Music For Every Mood

Music is something that can be enjoyed any time, whether you feel excited, sad, anxious, or even upset. It is often the best way to relax as we can always feel our emotions in the songs we listen to. I’ve selected various songs that match different moods. As I listen to both American pop and Korean pop songs, here is a mixture of the two!

  • Fancy by Iggy Azalea & Charli XCX

This song is a classic, it always keeps me pumped whenever I listen to it! Because it’s an older song, it reminds me of my younger self. I would always be excited to sing this song.

  • Intentions by Justin Bieber & Quavo

Although this is a love song, it’s as refreshing as cold lemonade on a hot summer day. I recommend listening to this song when you’re out on a drive!

  • Sunflower by Post Malone and Swae Lee

This song keeps me in good spirits when I’m driving or walking around the neighborhood. It’s my go-to song at friends' parties, should that happen after COVID-19 gets better.

  • Dynamite by BTS

BTS is now a well-known group and since Dynamite is in full English, anyone can listen to the song! It’s laced with positivity as such that it never fails to put you in a good mood.

  • All I Wanna Do by Jay Park, Hoody, and Loco

It’s a bright love song that will start your summer right. It’s my go-to song when I’m driving or when I’m in a good mood.

When you feel sad, it’s alright to listen to sad music so you can release the sadness. It’s better than bottling up your emotions. Here are some songs that will help you release any negative emotions. I recommend looking up the meaning of these songs while you’re listening to them!

  • You Were Beautiful by DAY6

This song is about looking back at your previous relationships and remembering its good and bad times. It’s my go-to song whenever I feel under the weather from stress or anxiety. Also, DAY6’s vocals are amazing, and they deserve more recognition.

  • End this (L.O.V.E) by Hailee Steinfeld

Although this song is about a breakup, I like how it’s very different as it takes on a new twist. I usually listen to this song when I feel upset, and it helps me release my emotions as needed.

  • When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars

Bruno Mars creates the best songs for when you’re happy or down. I recommend this song specifically as it doesn’t involve any other instruments besides his raw voice and the piano.

  • Being Left by ZICO and Dvwn

This song depicts loneliness and sadness in its true form. I think I cried a few times listening to this song because it hits home. I recommend looking up the song’s lyrics and meaning while you’re giving it a listen. It helped me overcome many moments of when I needed to de-stress the most.

  • Gone by Rosé

This song is about hating your ex’s new lover. Rosé’s perfect vocals beautifully highlight the feeling of heartbreak and hate.

If you’re angry and in need of some music to pump you up, here are my recommendations. Although it’s not always good to feed your anger, listening to music can sometimes help you calm down even if the lyrics aren't the nicest.

  • Gotta Go by Sunmi

This song is about a girl getting annoyed at a guy’s controlling actions towards her. It’s a very powerful song for when you’re feeling a little hot headed or in need of a good workout song.

  • How Can I Say by DAY6

DAY6 songs are one of the best songs to listen to because they have a range of songs for any emotion. “How Can I Say” is about a guy trying to break up with a girl because he no longer loves her, but he finds it difficult to do so as the girl still loves him deeply. This song has a lot of heavy beats, making it perfect for breaking a sweat or for when you’re feeling upset.

  • Kill This Love by BLACKPINK

This song is about killing the love that is hurting you most, which can either be from your partner or a friend. I always listen to this song when I need to go on a run because it always pushes me to run faster.

  • New Rules by Dua Lipa

This song is super catchy and it honestly deserves more attention. It teaches you that you need to say no to a toxic relationship or you’ll find yourself falling into that toxic cycle. I love listening to this song when I need to cool off from an argument.

  • Youngblood by Five Seconds of Summer

Although this is a breakup song, the hard beats and angered emotions behind the lyrics encourages you to work hard intensely, while also distracting you from any anger or resentment you may be feeling.

What do you think of these songs and suggestions? Although everyone has their own music preferences, these go-to songs of mine often help me tackle situations that involve anger or sadness. You can’t always hold in your feelings as you need to let them out at some point. You’ll get even more stressed if you continue to harbor these feelings, which could lead to issues like an inability to focus, a desire to stay in bed all day, and etc. These songs are just one solution to help you release any bad energy, but it may also add to your playlist if you were looking into some new songs!
